Clear your calendar and save the dates:
The 2025 written exam period is from Monday 10 November to Thursday 20 November 2025.
Mark off the dates and clear your calendar. You are expected to be ready to attend the scheduled exams for Level 3 and 4 courses as they are a necessary part of your assessment for the course.
Travelling for a recognised event?
If you need to travel interstate or overseas at the time of your exams due to being selected as a participant or official for a recognised National or International-level sporting, academic, or cultural event (that is sanctioned and organised by an official governing body), you need to make an application for a special exam centre to complete your exam. The requirement for the event to be a recognised National or International-level event is set by the excusable circumstances in Ministerial Instruction No. 4 Students Excused from Daily Attendance at School.
You must apply before 1 July and be prepared to cover the cost associated with having a special exam centre. TASC will look at whether it is possible to set up a special exam centre where you will be and any risks to the integrity of the exam paper. For more information, talk to your school about Requesting a special exam centre.
Family holiday / travel?
A family holiday / travel is not an accepted reason for not attending an exam and is not eligible for an alternate exam arrangement (such as a special exam centre or sitting the exam at a different time) and is not eligible for derived exam ratings. You are expected to have plans in place to attend the exams for Level 3 and 4 courses as scheduled in the exam timetable as they are a necessary part of your assessment for the course.
Seeking derived exam ratings?
Derived exam ratings are restricted to students experiencing unfortunate and unplanned circumstances, such as being sick, an emergency or other exceptional unexpected circumstances.
