Learners who undertake this syllabus will have had varied language learning experiences
Most will have studied Hebrew at primary level, although some will not have begun the language until secondary school. Some learners will be Australian-born but will have a Hebrew family background. Some of these may have only limited contact with the language outside schooling, whereas others may use the language at home. A few learners may have had some schooling using Hebrew as the language of instruction and an increasing number may have visited Israel. Some may have had part of their schooling in Israel, so will be competent in both speech and writing. The flexible nature of the syllabus allows for the development of courses for all the learners listed above and for those interested in learning Hebrew as a second language.
