  • have achieved their TCE/TCEA by December of the current school year* (that is, no Year 11 students are eligible)
  • be enrolled in a Tasmanian school
  • have demonstrated outstanding achievement in VET as part of their TCE/TCEA program, either in the current year or in a previous year of their senior secondary studies (either in Year 11, or in Year 12 if the student is in Year 13)
  • be nominated by a teacher, employer, principal or industry representative
  • be nominated in relation to one (1) VET qualification only
  • be endorsed by the principal/principal delegate of the student’s school.

*TASC will verify that nominees have achieved the TCE/TCEA when student results are released in December. This may be subject to change before the official TASC results are released on the nominated result day.

  • Nominations open on Monday 27 July 2026 and close on Friday 23 October 2026.
  • Each school may select ONE nominee for an award per industry/training package area. There is no limit on how many students can be nominated by each school.
  • Before commencing, please read through the Outstanding Achievement in VET Awards Nomination Information Sheet (available in Term 2)
  • All nominations must be submitted via a MS Forms webform (link available in Term 2)
  • The TASC Liaison Officer (TLO)/ principal/principal delegate must submit the nomination/s by the closing date. Late nominations will not be accepted.

It is recommended that people who are nominating a student use the MS Word version of the form (available in Term 2) in order to view/save/print the various components required. This can then be cut/pasted into the relevant sections in the MS Forms webform to make completion easier and more streamlined.

Judging: Award recipients will be selected by a TASC-appointed panel of experts in the vocational education and training sector. The panel will select up to 30 Award recipients from the total nominees.

Announcement: All nominated students will be notified of the outcome of their nomination by early January. Schools will be notified if a student is a recipient of an Award through communication with the school’s principal/principal delegate and TLO. Schools will be asked to confirm that the student’s name can be publicly released as an Award recipient.

Award Ceremony: Award recipients will be recognised at an official presentation ceremony in January 2027.
