Fees payable under the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification Act 2003 (as per S72 and S11) are, in the most part, itemised through Schedule 1 of the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (Fees) Regulations 2025. The value of the fee unit (as determined by the Department of Treasury and Finance) is updated on 1 July each year.

TASC can provide replacement certificates and statements specifying approved and recognised qualifications.

The fees for replacement certificates are:

  • A replacement certificate base charge of $39.20 – to be processed in 5–10 working days (includes the cost of regular postage within Australia)
  • An additional charge of $23.52 for 48 hour priority processing (includes the cost of regular postage within Australia)
  • An additional $15.00 for express postage (within Australia).

The charges are specified in Schedule 1 (S14) of the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (Fees) Regulations 2025.

Students have the opportunity to inspect or request a copy of written exam material.

Inspection of written exam material

Review the eligibility requirements for inspections of written exam material to apply.

  • A fee of $39.20 per exam for a 30 minute inspection.

You can complete the Request for copy of written exams form to have your exam paper responses returned to you in the first week of July. Applications close towards the end of April each year.

  • A fee of $39.20 per exam to have written exam material returned (by email).

Students can take Everyday adult standard safety net tests to achieve three of the TCE standards if they are not completing TASC accredited courses, identified VET courses or other TASC recognised formal learning qualifications to show that they meet the standards. These can be sat at one of the TASC approved testing centres. These centres set their own fees and eligibility guidelines.

Schools are charged a fee of $25.00 per TCE everyday adult standard safety net test supplied to them by TASC (includes the cost of regular postage), with the exception of the online version of the Everyday adult use of computers and the internet standard safety net test which is free.  If you choose to have the tests sent via express post there will be an additional charge of $15.00 per request.

Each year TASC collects from schools a fee for each full-fee paying international student (500 Visa) enrolled in one or more TASC senior secondary courses.

TASC charges fees for services provided for international students, under the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification Act 2003.

The fee is payable for a student who has participated in one or more TASC accredited course, including courses that are not externally assessed (or completed) and who is enrolled on 1 September.

Data identifying full-fee paying students from overseas registered to Tasmanian schools/colleges, is sourced from the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS).

The fee for 2026 students will be $496.23 (excluding GST) for each student.  Invoices will be generated in Term 4.

If students can’t get to a regular exam centre (for example, they are interstate or overseas) it may be possible to set up a special exam centre at a suitable venue.

Special exam centre fees:

  • For overseas centres, a fee of $295.00 (inc. GST) per centre.
  • For interstate centres, a fee of $195.00 (inc. GST) per centre.

You may also be required to pay costs for the provision of a supervisor at your special exam centre.  If applicable, these costs are to be paid directly to the supervising institution.  

The costs associated with setting up a special exam centre, including administration and exam supervision fees, must be covered by the student. The fees are non-refundable.

Tasmanian schools and colleges may apply to TASC to be registered to provide education services to international students in Australia.

Schools can apply to TASC to:

  • add English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) to the school’s scope on the registered Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
  • register to be on the CRICOS.

The associated application and registration fees are specified in Schedule 1 (S10) and (S11) of the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (Fees) Regulations 2025.
