For some courses you must submit a folio or project as part of your external assessment.
Guidelines and due dates for submitting your folio are different for each externally assessed course.
The TASC Frequently Asked Questions – Externally assessed folios, provides general information for all students and teachers about externally assessed folios, including a how-to guide for submitting folios.
In 2019, the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards & Certification (TASC) is rolling out a new student management system – TRACS. TRACS is a complete student management system, which will be used by TASC to manage student assessment and certification data and to support the management of Tasmanian Secondary School results.
From the beginning of Term 3 2019, the second stage of TRACS will include the marking and assessment components. It is possible that these new functions in TRACS will impact the current processes for folio submission and assessment. Further information about this will be provided from the beginning of Term 3 2019.
For more information about TRACS, please visit the About TRACS page.
Can I get an extension for my external folio assessment?
You can request an extension to your folio deadline for the following reasons:
- sudden illness – accompanied by a medical certificate
- death of a close relative
- unexpected travel due to the death of a close relative
To request an extension you must provide your TASC Liaison Officer with a completed Folio or project extension request form at least 48 hours before the due date.
Folio extension approvals are made by TASC on a case-by-case basis. You will receive written notification from TASC about your extension request.
